Membership Appreciation Party

Date: Thursday, January 28
Time: 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Location: Brown Trout Café, Dunsmuir

Enjoy an evening of wine, good friends, and appetizers as we thank you for your support of our stewardship efforts. The evening will include a short presentation of our current programs and projects. For more information please contact the River Exchange. All members and partners welcome . . . bring a friend!

Bald Eagle/Winter Waterfowl Field Trip

Date: Saturday, January 30
Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Location: Driving Tour - Meet at Hwy 97 and A-12 (12 miles north of Weed)

Mt. Shasta Area Audubon and the River Exchange present an all-day trip to the Klamath Basin area led by Chris Stromsness. We’ll carpool to strategic viewing locations in the basin to observe bald and golden eagles, hawks, snow geese, owls, tundra swans, and much more. Bring warm clothes, walking shoes, lunch, water, binoculars, and walkie–talkies (if you have them). $5.00 outing donation. Call the River Exchange to register.

Sustainable Watershed Series - Film Night
“Rivers of a Lost Coast”

Date: Thursday, March 4
Time: 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Location: Stage Door, 414 N. Mt. Shasta Blvd., Mount Shasta

Narrated by Tom Skerritt (A River Runs Through It), this documentary is for every fisherman and conservationist. Using never before seen footage, vintage photos, archival headlines and exclusive interviews, this film reminds us of the ever increasing importance of wild fish in wild rivers. Donation requested at the door.

Earth Day

Location: Mount Shasta City Park, Main Lodge

The River Exchange will host a booth at the 20th annual Earth Day Celebration which will focus on the plans for the Sacramento Headwaters Restoration and Trail Project. Please stop by to check out what's in store for this exciting project - questions and comments welcomed!

River Festival "Eve"

Date: Friday, April 30
Time: 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Location: Brown Trout Café, Sacramento Ave., Dunsmuir

Support watershed education and celebrate your river at this year’s River Festival in Dunsmuir. To kick off the weekend, the River Exchange and Dunsmuir High students will present a watershed program at the Brown Trout Café. Plus, Craig Ballenger will give a presentation of historical interest on the Upper Sac.

River Festival

Location: Sacramento Avenue, Dunsmuir

Support watershed education and celebrate your river at this year’s River Festival in Dunsmuir. Bring the family to downtown Dunsmuir for hands-on activities including wildlife and watershed displays, student science projects, flyfishing exhibition, food, music, and art.

River Round-Up

Date: Saturday, May 15
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Upper Sacramento River at Sims Rd.

Raft the clear and lively waters of the Upper Sacramento River AND join our yearly Scotch broom eradication effort! All participants will be issued tools and safety equipment - just bring your own lunch. Cost is $50 - adults only please. River Celebration!

Location: Upper Lodge, Mt. Shasta City Park, Mount Shasta

Don’t miss our annual fundraising extravaganza. This year’s Celebration! marks our 14th year providing watershed stewardship and educational programming. Join friends and community members for great food, music, delicious desserts and amazing auction items. Watch for upcoming information and reserve your tickets early for this always sold-out event. $35 each/2 for $65.00.

Poker Paddle

Date: Saturday, June 26
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 pm
Location: Lake Siskiyou Marina, Mount Shasta

The lake is full and summer is here! Dust off your canoes, kayaks or whatever floats that you can paddle, and join the fun. You’ll paddle to various check points on the lake, collect your game hand, and the best hand wins! We’ll have a drawing for other fun stuff too! $10/adults, $6/children under 12 (must be accompanied by adult). Entry form available here. . (Click to open.)
